Our Founder

Seeking God provides the assurance that the world cannot give me. I’m just a little somebody trying to be a big somebody for the Lord. God is maturing me each day I live and I give Him all the glory.

Donnella Cranford

Donnella Cranford’s vision for evangelism, teaching, mentoring and serving others began to unfold early in her life. While growing up in Chicago, Illinois, Donnella realized at an early age that she enjoyed helping and working with her community.  Over the years, she has fulfilled a desire to serve and edify others through membership and participation in her church, community, and non-profit organizations.  Cranford’s hunger to reach people beyond her local community came to fruition when she established the Women After God’s Own Heart Ministry, Inc. (WAGOH) in 1998.

As the WAGOH acronym suggests, Cranford’s mission is to empower, encourage, and edify women of all ages.  Her foundational philosophy is that marriages, families, and communities can withstand the challenges of our world today through women who are anchored in the Word of God.  Inspired by the biblical book of Esther, Donnella established Debutantes 4 Christ (D4C) as a mentoring program for teenage girls.  Through WAGOH Ministry, Cranford provides outreach services and mentoring to women of all ages, walks of life, church affiliations and denominations.  With a focus on illuminating the spiritual beauty of all women through basic Christian principles and values, Cranford’s ministry aspires to close the gap between generations, cultures, religions, and denominations.

Minister Cranford was ordained and licensed in 2001 and continues the work of kingdom building for the glory of God. She has also served on the ministerial staff of Hoosier Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta where she and her husband (Haywood) are members.

Donnella has acquired more than 40 years of experience as an educator.  After retiring from Fulton County School System located in the metro Atlanta area, she wanted to continue to use her gift as an educator and became an entrepreneur and launched DBC Services, Inc., an educational consultancy.

Donnella’s faith in God and her desire to do His will are evident by the growth of the WAGOH Ministry and the fruit it continues to bear.  She has been a guest on Atlanta Live-WATC TV 57 and Atlanta Interfaith Broadcaster- AIB TV.  Such outreach initiatives as the Naked Truth Rally, a teen abstinence forum hosted by Debutantes 4 Christ, has been featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Other WAGOH outreach events have been highlighted in a number of metro Atlanta neighborhood papers over the years. The Fayette County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) recognized Donnella Cranford as its 2003 Humanitarian Awardee.  In October 2009 Donnella was presented the Doris J. Harris Humanitarian Award by the Twenty Pearls Foundation, Inc. and Tau Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  Donnella’s love for helping others know and embrace God’s love is beautifully expressed in her book, Encouraging Your Heart: 15 Ways to See, Hear and Know God Better.

Purple Buds

The spirit of the Lord is upon me because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
