Ladies, I had no idea who you were except that you were a group of God fearing women with the spirit of giving in your hearts. Donnella encouraged us to be intentional as we give thanks during this Thanksgiving season. Let us also be intentional about considering the depressed, the lonely and the broken hearted, as holidays can be the worst of times for them. There are more suicides during the holidays than any other time of the year.

Your message was timely.  Allison Henderson-Brooks spoke this morning & it complimented your message from yesterday. I love the way you conduct your meetings.  It takes faith, courage, and setting aside ego to allow people to speak and contribute.  You allow freedom and encourage, freedom of expression but you clarify & distill the comments so that the message remains clear and focused. And you don’t let people take over and cause confusion.  As I have said before, it is obvious that you have let God have His way because many ministers do not have the courage to be transparent and vulnerable. That is the work of the Holy Spirit, and I am grateful that I was there yesterday & have my WAGOH sisters.

Thank you for your faithfulness to Gilgal and its clients for the past seven years! Women After God’s Own Heart has been our longest serving volunteer group. What a tremendous blessing and impact WAGOH has been to the women of Gilgal!

Over the years you have invited us to join your monthly Breakthrough meetings, your Purses with a Purpose Tea, your Christmas Brunch, provided the annual Employment Readiness Workshop all while providing the financial support that initially covered Marta passes for women looking for employment and now covers food for two women to eat an entire year. The women have been especially excited to enjoy recently released movies and popcorn with your extra Christmas blessing each year. I love that for seven years, woman after Gilgal woman can name your group and individuals associated with WAGOH that have personally impacted them. They don’t feel “less than” in your presence. What a gift you offer.

Partnerships like yours are rare and highly appreciated. I am truly grateful for all of the numerous ways that you have supported Gilgal over the past seven years. A couple of items standout for me: 1. WAGOH is consistent and faithful and 2. There is never a compromise as to who it is that we serve. Thank you for your consistency and for letting His light shine through you in all that you do. Gilgal is blessed to call you “friend”. I am eternally grateful.

Blessings to you!

WAGOH Supports Prom Activities at Carrie Steele Pitts Home, Inc.

In the dictionary, a prom is defined as a formal dance, especially held by a class in senior and junior high school years. However, in the eyes of most participates, a prom is an opportunity to live out a dream. In the spring of 2016, Women After Gods Own Heart (WAGOH) with the support of its members and a business organization, AUDCO Construction Company, had the opportunity to assist several young ladies from Carrie Steele – Pitts Home, Inc. live out their dream of being a princess for a night. WAGOH coordinated a shopping trip to a local mall and prom specialty shop where the girls tried on beautiful evening gowns and shoes, and even purchased a tiara. During the trip, the ministry coordinator witnessed a young women’s emotions run the gamut of, “Oh, I’ll never find the dress I am looking for,”  to, “Oh my God, this is the dress of my dreams!”

Members of WAGOH not only contributed donations, but also shared their gifts and talents to provide a personal touch as the girls transformed from young high school students to elegant prom princesses.

Our goal was to touch the girls’ lives and as it turned out, the girls equally touched ours.

First Spiritual Breakthrough Monthly Session, but NOT my last…January 2016!

Greetings Donnella,

My meager vocabulary cannot express the joy, warmth, and love that permeated the air at your Breakthrough Meeting.

God is certainly using you and the ladies in a mighty way. I called three of my friends and met with Eneida shortly after I left the breakfast. As I communicated some of the testimonies that were given and the many highlights of your message: "Fan the Flame of Forgiveness," it was hard for them to keep their composure.

Warmest regards...

I had such a wonderful time at the Tea last Saturday.  It was a wonderful event and I especially enjoyed the focus on influential women.  Only one name was not on the list: Donnella Cranford – for you have truly been a positive influence on many women – me included.  Thanks for all you do for many!
