What’s on Your Mind?
March 28, 2020 WAGOH
With all the insanity going on in our world today and the current pandemics, the question I have for us today is…WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND? Norman Vincent Peale said, “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” I say, change your thoughts and change your life.
Life right now can be very perplexing and our minds can take us to places that can cause all kind of stuff to play gymnastics in our heads. The nature of our thoughts determines the quality of our life and we all want the highest quality of life God has for us individually and collectively.
Our brain willingly adopts any changes that we bring about in our thinking patterns.
During these uncertain times one thing is for certain, we have control over our mind and thinking the right thoughts can enhance our faith. What’s on your mind? To enrich our minds and strengthen our faith, I’d like to share 3 encouraging reminders on how we can answer the question…What’s on your mind?
1. Choose each day to wake up with a determination to maintain your joy during the entire day and expect a miracle—As soon as you wake up in the morning resolve to maintain your joy during the entire day. Say it to yourself, say it to someone else or say it out loud, but say it! As soon as you sense trouble coming…stop and begin to think about your joys and blessings. Gratitude can turn chaos to order and confusion to clarity. The Bible commands us to: Think about these things, things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise…Philippians 4:8 Expecting a miracle to happen takes faith; activate it today!
2.Choose to confess the TRUTH, not what you feel. We possess God’s promises…and we have to confess these TRUTHS with our mouth. Jesus did that in the wilderness when the Devil tempted His mind. Jesus didn’t think the Scripture to combat the Devil’s arrows, He spoke the Scripture Matthew 4:4).
If we’re speaking what we feel all the time our mind will not change. Activate the TRUTH of God’s word today by speaking it and experience a positive result.
3. Choose prayer over panic—God has already given us the prescription that is proven to cure our illnesses. The Word of God. Philippians 4:6 tells us: Don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our request be made know to God. If we are too busy panicking instead of praying, we forfeit our greatest strength—prayer. Activate your prays today. What’s on Your mind? Here’s what I hope is now on your mind. The determination to…
choose joy each day and expect a miracle
choose to confess the truth, not what you feel
choose prayer over panic.
Let’s be the master rather than a servant of our own mind, mood, and attitude.
