GOD’S TIMING

September 1, 2020 By Doris Boynton

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV)

ENCOURAGEMENT: This verse is saying God is in control and everything is done in His time. In some seasons, things grow; some seasons things die. Seasons change.

Whenever there is a change in seasons it challenges our faith, our thinking and our belief. When we choose to follow Jesus and experience Him in a new, fresh and different way, we’re going to be challenged. We have to cultivate between seasons to prepare for the next.

Life is about God and His timing. As we continue to study our Bibles, let’s recognize the promises of God and apply His promises to our problems, to our fears, and to our doubts. It’s time to speak in faith the things God’s Word has promised. Speak it in faith and see it come to pass, because only what we do for God will last.

Let’s embrace the time we are in now, because we are stewards of time. Think about that as you read I Have Only One Minute by Dr Benjamin E Mays. I have only just a minute, only sixty seconds in it. Forced upon me, can’t refuse it. Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it. But it’s up to me to use it. I must suffer if I lose it. Give account if I abuse it. Just a tiny little minute, but eternity is in it. We must value the gift of time, once it’s gone, we can’t get it back.

PRAYER: Father, Your timing is perfect and is always for our best and we thank you for that. Lord, it may not always be the way we want or expect, but You always work it out, for our good. Thank you. Father, we give You total control over our life and we pray that Your everlasting love will continue to shield our hearts and minds. Give us the faith and strength to trust in Your Word and timing. We hold steadfastly to the promises of Your Word. Continue to go with us, protect us, and keep us out of harm’s way, In Your Son Jesus name I pray. Amen.

REFLECTION: Embrace the season of time that God has you in and commit to grow in faith, love, giving, stewardship and unity. Maintain your focus and don’t be distracted by what’s going on around you today.
