Called -For Such A Time As This
In the view of many, the job of proclaiming Christ to the world is and should be reserved for a select few. If the scriptures provide any direction in this matter, this is truly not the case. The Great Commission is a call to all that believe in Jesus. You are an emissary to God and as such, have a mission and a ministry.
"GOD DOES NOT CALL THE QUALIFIED; HE QUALIFIES THE CALLED--FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS."
Some would protest that they never had a dramatic encounter or call like Paul, Mary, Moses or Isaiah. These people did have extraordinary lives as a result of their relationships with God. All relationships with God are different, by none less important in God's view. Many more are needed to support the building of the kingdom through servanthood. And one person can make a difference.
We live in a world that seems to want God's judgment rather than His mercy and grace. We must always follow Godly principles when we lead others to God. Your role or ministry may be different because He wants something different from you. God has wired each of us for service, a unique service based on your talent(s) and gift(s). Everyone cannot be in the forefront, but everyone has a front to minister from. Also remember, that God wants those that are open to His directions. He often does not call the qualified; He qualifies those that He calls for such as time as this.
Before you toss this thought aside and say to yourself, "Nah, that's for someone else because I cannot make a difference." Stop and reflect on the classic lines penned by Edward Everett Hale well over a century:
"I am only one. But still I am one. I cannot do everything. But still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do."
You are called - for such a time as this!
