Get It Fixed In 2006!
Insecure, Overly-Sensitive, Overwhelmed, Defensive
Unduly-Obligated, Anxious, Intimidated
Do these words sound like clanging cymbals in your head? Do they ring loud and true in your life? Is it possible that they may even interfere in your relationship with God and others? If so, then "Get It Fixed in 2006!"
Human relations were designed to be fueled and filled by righteousness. The degree to which we give in to the urging of our fleshly nature will be the degree to which we fail to experience righteous or fulfilling relationships. However, to the degree we practice the things God commands, our relationships will become a sampling of heaven on earth. That's something to aim - sampling heaven on earth.
Too many times we fail to substantially experience heaven on earth because we're too busy saying we feel intimidated, insecure, anxious, and the likes because of something someone else did or said. We have to constantly kill the flesh and renew our minds.
Obviously, we don't want to ignore the situation(s) that have lead us to these challenges (anxiety, insecurity, guilt, defensiveness, being overwhelmed, obligated, sensitive, intimidation) nor deny they exist. That's unrealistic, but what we do want to do is to focus our thoughts on the One who has promised, that "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength...
When we purposefully and diligently practice thinking positive, excellent thoughts our strength is renewed and we do mount up on eagles' wings and God brings us to Himself.
Reject, turn from and refuse to practice any form of relational unrighteousness or sin: jealous or envious attitudes, greedy desires for things, gossip or course humor.
(Col 3:5-11)
Adopt and practice diligently every form of relational righteousness: love, compassion, humble attitudes, self-giving behavior, freely flowing forgiveness and patience with others.
So be encouraged ladies!
